Beat the Heat: Knicks Amar’e Stoudemire Puts Miami Duplex Up for Sale

8 Apr

In a move that can only be linked to Amar’e's new found hatred for the Miami Heat, it appears he is putting up his penthouse duplex for sale for $6.5 million as per the NY Post:

The 5,244 square-foot, 20th-floor Collins Avenue pad boasts a rooftop pool and terrace, two bedrooms, two and a half baths, marble floors and ocean and bay views. Sources tell Page Six that recording artist Sir Ivan Wilzig is interested in the apartment and has arranged to view it this week.

Knicks Ahead Of Heat In Chase For NBA Title?

10 Mar

As the Miami Heat continue to lose games, drop in the standings, show their frustration, and even cry about their failures, the New York Knicks are on the upswing.  The Knicks are starting to look like a very dangerous team, as Carmelo Anthony is hitting game winning shots while Lebron James keeps choking in crunch time.

The Knicks are playing so well that lately, that some analysts have suggested the Knicks would have a puncher’s chance to beat the Heat in a 7 game series.  Some though, have seen the potential of this Knicks team, and have gone so far as to suggest that the Knicks are in fact closer to a title than Lebron James and the Miami Heat.

Knicks Stars Stoudemire And Anthony Have A Laugh At Expense of Weeping Heat

7 Mar

At the beginning of the season, countless NBA fans turned against Lebron James and the Miami Heat (guilt by association) after his “decision” antics this summer.  Before the season began, most fans in New York, not to mention those in Cleveland, would have found nothing (outside of an NBA Championship) more amusing or satisfying than the players on the new NBA superpower Miami Heat in tears over a loss at some point in the season.  Little did we know, however, that tears in Miami would be just as amusing to Knicks’ stars Amar’e Stoudemire and Carmelo Anthony.

Knicks Can’t Get Caught Looking Ahead…Again.

4 Mar

It was one week ago today.  The Knicks were still on cloud nine after acquiring Carmelo Anthony and Chauncey Billups, and winning their first game with the two of them on the Garden floor against the Bucks.  The Knicks had a few big games coming up, against Lebron and the Heat, and Dwight Howard and the Magic.  But first, they had a quick stop in Cleveland, which despite the fact that the team needed more time to gel, should have been an easy victory.  Instead, the Knicks got caught looking ahead and dropped last Friday night’s game to the lowly Cavs. (more…)

Look Out!! Here Come The New Look Knicks…

28 Feb

Via SB Nation:

“Carmelo Anthony scored 29 points, Amare Stoudemire added 16 and 10 rebounds, Spike Lee was waving his arms all night long from his courtside seat, and the New York Knicks beat LeBron James and the Miami Heat Sunday night. And the hype hits overdrive… NOW…

With Carmelo on board and Amare hitting the boards, the Knicks are one of the NBA’s best teams…

Get on board while you can, though, because the bandwagon’s filling up fast, and if this keeps up, the “fun” Knicks are going to be scary as hell come playoff time.”

Rough Night For Current and Former Knicks

26 Feb

If last night’s performance in Cleveland is a sign of things to come, Knicks fans will have to wait until at least next season for their team to make some real noise.  Perhaps they were looking ahead to their prime time Sunday night showdown against Lebron James and the Miami Heat, but the Knicks turned in a lackluster performance last night against one the worst teams in the NBA.  Although he finished with 27 points, Carmelo Anthony fouled out late in the fourth quarter after missing a key free throw as the Knicks dropped what should have been a gimme to the Cleveland Cavaliers, 115-109.  It is clear that this team more time to gel. War Of Words between Amar’e Stoudemire and Dwight Howard

30 Dec

After dropping a game to the Heat a few nights ago in Miami, the Knicks head to Orlando to take on Dwight Howard and the Orlando Magic.  The Magic are 20-12 this season, and are the next big test for this Knicks team, who seemingly face a big test every game these days.  The Knicks, in order to pass this test, must stop NBA superstar center Dwight Howard.  However, Amar’e Stoudemire seems to think that despite Howard’s defensive dominance, that his limited offensive game can be exploited.

Nobody likes to be insulted.  Especially someone as accomplished as an NBA player as Dwight Howard.  So when he was asked to respond to Stoudemire’s criticism, Howard did not exactly praise Stoudemire, or even recognize what he has done thus far this season.

Knicks Pick and Roll: Less is More

29 Dec

One of the staples of Knicks’ coach Mike D’Antoni’s offense is the pick and roll.  The Knicks have executed this age old play beautifully thus far this season, primarily with Raymond Felton and Amar’e Stoudemire.  However, with the Miami Heat keying their defense to stop the Knicks’ pick and roll, the Knicks were forced to adjust.  Last night’s rematch was evidence that at least against the Heat, less pick and rolling could lead to greater success.

Hate Lebron James

28 Dec

For years, Reggie Miller thrived upon being the villain in New York City.  He caused Knicks fans more heartache than they care to remember, and usually did it when playing at Madison Square Garden.  Knicks fans, in return, would greet Miller with a chorus of boos every time he came to town.  The problem was that, the louder fans would boo, the better Miller played.

Earlier this month, Lebron James came to New York as this city’s newest basketball villain.  Though James has heard fans boo all over the country this season, New York might have been the most hostile place he’s played outside of his former home of Cleveland.  New Yorkers had cheered Lebron for years, and he had risen to the occasion against some bad Knicks teams.  This time, he heard the boos and rose to the occasion against a good Knicks team.

The Knicks will face Lebron James and the Heat tonight for a rematch.  This time, the game is in Miami, practically the only place the Heat have played this season where the fans have not shown their displeasure for Lebron and his gang.  However, with so many transplanted New Yorkers living in the Miami area, there might be some anti-Lebron sentiment in the building.  Lebron, though, says he relishes the boos from Knicks fans, even in Miami.

Game Recap: Heat 113 – Knicks 91

17 Dec

Madison Square Garden was electric for one half of basketball tonight.  After that, the Heat looked like everything that one would expect from a team with Lebron James, Chris Bosh, and Dwyane Wade, as Lebron posted a triple-double and the Heat bested the Knicks 113-91.

The Knicks, on the other hand, fell apart in the second half.  Even Danillo Gallinari, who was on fire in the first half, went cold in the second.  The Knicks stopped hitting their outside shots, and couldn’t finish when they took the ball to the basket.  They missed free throws, and played lackluster defense.  Knicks fans are obviously disappointed.  Perhaps more than they were after Wednesday’s last second loss to the Celtics.  Only time will tell whether this was just an off game for a very good team, or whether this was a true powerhouse bringing a mediocre team back to earth.
