LJ to join Bulls coaching staff?

5 Aug

Via The Daily Herald:

Larry Johnson, the former No. 1 overall draft pick, is interested in (an assistant coaching) job and visited the team recently.

Johnson has a history with new Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau. Johnson played for the New York Knicks from 1996-2001, while Thibodeau was on the coaching staff working under Jeff Van Gundy. Since retiring in 2001, Johnson has not held any formal coaching jobs.

Would be tough to see a beloved Knick go to the Bulls, but we’ll always love LJ for this:

It’s nothing new, we saw it with Ewing and coach Jackson. Some organizations are simply more loyal than others, to say it nicely. It’s the reason why LeBron chose Miami, he said Miami has a great reputation with its player loyalty. He turned away from the Bulls/Jordon and Knicks/Ewing display of loyalty for the Heats/Alonzo, Hardaway display.
